Manitoba seniors economic recovery credit

This is a new one-time refundable tax credit that is available to Manitoba seniors who did not receive the $200 advance payment from Manitoba Finance which was sent out in May or June 2020.

You can claim this tax credit for yourself and your spouse or common-law partner if on December 31, 2020:

  • You (or your spouse or common-law partner) were a resident of Manitoba

  • You (or your spouse or common-law partner) were 65 years of age or older

  • You did not receive the $200 advance payment

Follow these steps in H&R Block’s 2020 tax software:

  1. Under the PREPARE tab, click the REQUIRED icon. You will find yourself here:



  2. On the Special situationss page, answer No to the question:

    Did you receive a $200 advance payment from Manitoba Finance in May or June 2020 for the seniors economic recovery credit? (if you answer No, we'll claim this credit for you)
